Working Process of Flat Wire ( or Ribbon)
At now the resistance alloy material such as FeCrAl, Nichrome and CuNi allloy usually was produced or provided in flat wire form.
The flat now is widedly used in braking resistor, low-temperature heater, electric relay, home applicance and so on.
OHMALLOY’S flat wire was cold-rolled from round wire, it shall be annealed, pickled, cold-rolled and soften by heating treatment.
The theoretical calculating formula is as follows:
The diameter of round wire D=
a is the width of the flat wire
b is the thicknes of the flat wire
εis cross-sectional area coefficient,when a ≦10mm,ε=0.96;when a/b≧2,ε=0.8181
When a/b is >25,we can’t produce them,at the same time,the width ≦5mm.But now,the size we can offer will be thickness≧0.1mm,width≦8.0mm.
As different material have different properties, we can cold-roll different size for different alloy material. The following data sheet is max width for each alloy material
