Main properties and applications of fluorine rubber from the main chain structure, fluorine rubber can be divided into three basic types: fluorine carbon rubber, fluorine silicone rubber, Fluorinated phosphorous nitrile rubber.
1. Oil, solvent and chemical resistance
Compared with methyl vinyl silicone rubber, fluorine silicone rubber has excellent oil, solvent and chemical resistance. Even compared with fluorine rubber, oil and solvent resistance is good. Under the same medium, temperature, time, impregnation after all showed excellent durability, fluorine and silicone rubber is perhaps the only a - 68 ℃ ~ 232 ℃ under the nonpolar medium resistance of the elastomer. Fluorosilicone rubber also has good methanol-containing gasoline resistance. Even in the gasoline/methanol mixture system, its vulcanizate hardness, tensile strength, volume change is very small, after a 500h long immersion test, the physical properties have almost no change.
2. Heat resistance
The pyrolysis of fluorosilicone rubber is the same as that of silicone rubber, i.e. side chain oxidation, main chain fracture, side chain thermal decomposition and various compound reactions. Due to the main chain of the breakdown products can also cause fracture, so heat resistance is less than silicone rubber, usually under the temperature of 200 ℃ has started to oxidative aging. But by adding iron, titanium and rare earth oxides can make them get a small amount of heat stabilizer improved significantly, even at 250 ℃ high temperature also has enough heat resistance. The effect of temperature on fluorosilicone rubber is larger than that of silicone rubber, but smaller than that of fluorosilicone rubber. Also studied abroad fluorine silicone rubber in 150 ℃, 175 ℃ x 5000 x 2000 h h, under the condition of 200 ℃ x 4000 h life, the result is second only to methyl vinyl silicone rubber.
3. Cold tolerance
Fluorine silicone rubber and ordinary silicone rubber, low temperature performance is good. Since fluorosilicone rubber is a linear polymer composed of soft si-o main chain, its low temperature characteristics are better than fluorosilicone rubber with c-c main chain. Among them, the fluorine and silicone rubber (LS - 2370 - u) better low temperature properties, low brittleness temperature - 89 ℃, and the general fluorine rubber was about to 30 ℃.
4. Electrical performance and radiation resistance
The electrical properties of fluorosilicone rubber are similar to that of ordinary silicone rubber, but the special value of fluorosilicone rubber is that it changes little under the harsh conditions of high temperature, low temperature, humidity, oil, solvent, chemicals, ozone and so on. The radiation resistance of fluorine silicone rubber is not outstanding, but it is better than methyl vinyl silicone rubber.
5. Physical and mechanical properties
Fluorosilicone rubber and ordinary silicone rubber, vulcanized rubber mechanical strength (especially tear strength) is relatively low. Therefore, improving the strength of fluorosilicone rubber is also an important research topic.
6. Other features
Fluorosilicone rubber has excellent anti-aging resistance, which can keep good performance even after 5 years of exposure. Ozone is one of the most produced gases during elastomer aging, but no cracks or cracks were found in fluorosilicone rubber after dynamic or static tests. In addition, the mildew resistance, physiological inertia, anticoagulation of fluorosilicone rubber is also very good.
