Fechral itself is an alloy consisting of elements such as chrome aluminum and iron with a small percentage of nickel of about 0.6 percent. The low content of the latter gives the alloy an undeniable advantage over nichrome making it cheaper. With a melting point of -1500 degrees, the fechral can withstand operating conditions and at 1400 degrees, plus, the resistivity is 1.39 μOhm. With a density of 7.21g / cm3, this alloy can be confidently considered a serious competitor to nichrome.
